Alexandra Matheson, M.A in Counselling Psychology
Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO), Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) and Psychometrist
*Accepting new clients for virtual therapy in Ontario*
Alexandra provides individual psychotherapy to children (age 8+), adolescents, and adults under the supervision of Dr. Loretta Patterson. In addition to psychotherapy, she supports Dr. Patterson in providing psychoeducational and psychological assessments.
Alexandra practices from a humanistic perspective, which means she focuses on understanding the whole person, not just the problem, and believes people have a natural ability to learn about themselves, grow as a person, and make positive changes in their everyday lives. This approach is based on empathy, respect, and collaboration, and emphasizes understanding a person’s beliefs, values, and lived experiences rather than trying to “fix” them.
Alexandra primarily uses Person-Centered Therapy (PCT). In this approach, clients talk about what matters most to them, at their own pace. There is no pressure to follow a set plan or timeline. Sessions can be used for expression, reflection, or working through situations, with a strong focus on feeling heard, understood, and supported in ways clients deem helpful. Alexandra also practices Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), a well-researched approach that compliments PCT. CBT helps clients become aware of their thoughts, feelings, behaviours, and physical symptoms, understand how these are connected, and supports the development of practical skills for managing challenges and working toward personal goals.
Alexandra is certified in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and integrates techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution-Focused Therapy within a person-centred approach. Rooted in cognitive-behavioural and behavioural traditions, DBT and ACT support emotion regulation, coping, and values-based action, while Solution-Focused Therapy builds on strengths to achieve meaningful goals.

Dr. Nereah Felix, C.Psych. (Supervised Practice)
Clinical Psychologist (Supervised Practice) and Registered Psychotherapist
*Accepting new clients for virtual therapy and assessments in Ontario*
Please note, some assessments may require in-person testing sessions in Kanata, ON
Dr. Felix provides individual psychotherapy to adolescents and adults under the supervision of Dr. Loretta Patterson.
It may be likely that you’ve spent years feeling misunderstood, working harder than others seem to, or wondering why certain experiences continue to affect you. You may be seeking answers for your loved one, making sense of your own identity, or looking for a space where you can finally exhale. Whatever brings you here, I believe your experiences deserve thoughtful attention, and that understanding yourself can create new possibilities.
I provide assessment and psychotherapy across the lifespan, supporting adolescents, adults, and older adults. I hold a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University and have been a Registered Psychotherapist since 2020. My experience spans developmental, emotional, and relational concerns, with particular interests in trauma, neurodivergence, identity, and belonging.
Assessment: making sense of your experiences
An assessment can help put words to experiences that have been difficult to explain. My assessment experience includes exploring attention, learning, cognitive functioning, adaptive skills, and mental health, including work involving ADHD, autism, learning challenges, and FASD. I consider how developmental experiences, trauma, culture, and environment may influence a person’s presentation.
I approach assessment as a collaborative process, bringing together your story, strengths, and assessment findings to develop a fuller understanding of your needs. My goal is for you to leave with meaningful clarity, accessible explanations, and practical recommendations that support everyday life.
Therapy: a space to feel understood
In therapy, I support people navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, racial stress, life transitions, and questions about identity and self-worth. I have a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent people and those who have learned to hide parts of themselves to feel accepted or safe.
My approach draws on psychodynamic, developmental, relational, and trauma-informed perspectives. We may explore how earlier experiences shape present relationships, what recurring patterns are trying to tell you, and what you need to feel more connected to yourself and others. I value the depth and trust that can develop over time, while remaining attentive to what would help you now.
Care that makes room for all of you
As a Haitian-Canadian, queer, and neurodivergent woman, I recognize how deeply identity, culture, and belonging can shape our experiences. My work with First Nations communities in Northern Ontario also informs my commitment to cultural humility, relationship-building, and understanding people within their family and community contexts.
You are welcome to bring conversations about race, sexuality, gender, disability, spirituality, and the experiences you may have struggled to share elsewhere. Together, we can make room for your complexity, honour what has helped you survive, and explore what you want for your life moving forward.
